The Role

What you'll actually do

Design and build mobile-facing interfaces for AI-enabled deployments — member apps, field-service tools, citizen-facing applications, wherever a client's real users are on a phone rather than a desktop
Work alongside the rest of the FDE team on the backend and orchestration layer, then carry the same deployment through to a genuinely usable mobile experience
Translate the same real-world, often ambiguous client workflows the wider team handles into a mobile-native build, not a shrunk-down web page
Own performance, offline behavior, and platform-specific quirks — the things that separate a working demo from something a client's actual customers use daily

What You'll Need

The bar we're actually hiring against

Real, shipped experience in React Native or native iOS/Android development — not a side project, a production app you can walk us through
The same core full-stack foundation as our other FDE roles: comfort with TypeScript/Node.js and Python, and hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Direct experience integrating LLM-backed features into a mobile app — handling latency, streaming responses, and graceful failure in ways a web app doesn't have to worry about
Comfort working under client direction while owning your build independently, and communicating clearly with non-technical stakeholders about what a mobile constraint actually means for their idea

Strong Nice-to-Haves

What separates a strong application

Experience shipping to both iOS and Android from a single codebase, and knowing when that's the right call versus going native
Familiarity with modern AI-agentic build tools (e.g. Emergent, Lovable) as a way to move quickly on new mobile builds
A track record of designing mobile interfaces that hold up under real, messy field conditions — poor connectivity, older devices, non-technical end users
