Levantto — FDE, Interface & Frontend Architecture
FORWARD DEPLOYED ENGINEER

Interface & Frontend Architecture

Almost every build we ship orchestrates across a client's existing stack of software — but a client never sees the orchestration. They see the interface. This role owns making that interface genuinely well-built, not just functional.

What you'll actually do

  • Design and build the interfaces that sit on top of our orchestration and integration work — dashboards, client-facing tools, internal review consoles — for a range of AI-enabled deployments
  • Turn a working backend into something a non-technical stakeholder can actually use, confidently, without a training session
  • Take ownership of visual and interaction quality as a real deliverable, not an afterthought once the "real" engineering is done
  • Work directly with clients and with the rest of the FDE team to understand what a given interface actually needs to do, then build it cleanly
  • Maintain consistency and craft across multiple client builds, each with different stacks, constraints, and audiences underneath

The bar we're actually hiring against

  • Genuine craftsmanship in HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript — the kind that shows in small details, not just in getting a layout to technically work
  • Strong working fluency with a modern frontend framework (React or equivalent), and comfort with responsive, cross-device design
  • A real design sensibility — you can look at a rough concept or a client's raw requirement and turn it into something that looks and feels intentional
  • Enough backend and API literacy to work directly with the rest of the FDE team's orchestration layer, even if you're not writing that layer yourself
  • Comfort working across several client stacks and design constraints in parallel, rather than one long-term product

What separates a strong application

  • A portfolio that shows restraint and intentional design choices — we'd rather see three thoughtful interfaces than ten generic ones
  • Experience turning an AI or data-heavy backend into an interface that doesn't feel overwhelming to a non-technical end user
  • Familiarity with modern AI-assisted design and build tools, and comfort using them to move quickly without sacrificing polish

If you notice when spacing is off before anyone points it out, this is your role.

Send us a link to an interface you've built — live, if possible — that you're genuinely proud of.
